Your birthdays will come, and they will go

The seasons will change, four times a year
Another reason to shed a tear
 
IĖll never see you go off to school
Never again, splash in a pool
 
At holiday time, youĖll play a new part
As memories of you, tug at my heart
 
Was there to be a wedding day
IĖll never know, I cannot say
 
I wanted so much to have our dance
But you and I wonĖt get that chance
 
My hopes and dreams were different, you see
But this is the way itĖs going to be
 
You run and you play, you skip through the clouds
As others stand by, watching in crowds
