Dear Parents and Caregivers,
In an effort to monitor the quality of adult role models and protect the
youth of our diocese, the St. Jerome's Catholic Youth Organization as
well as all other Youth Organizations have put into practice the
"Charter for the Protection of Children & Young People"
as recommended
by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
Volunteer need these to obtain:
1. Criminal Background Check.
2. Child Abuse Background Check.
3. Attend a "Protecting God's Children" seminar.
Criminal Background Check:
This link - https://epatch.state.pa.us - will take you to the Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History (PATCH) website. Unfortunately, they are not accepting online checks at this time but under the help menu you can download the SP4-164 form. Download, print and fill out the form and follow the online directions to submit it. You can also contact the Pennsylvania State Police Help Desk at
1-877-777-3375.
Child Abuse Check:
Use this link to The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare - http://www.dpw.state.pa.us - to obtain the necessary form. Follow the directions online.
Protecting God's Children Seminars:
This is a link to Virtus Online, the National Catholic Risk Retention Group, Inc. - http://www.virtus.org. You can register to attend the one time "Protecting God's Children" seminar. CLICK HERE for a schedule of dates and times. The website lists locations and approximate times of the seminar you register to attend.
